Ho-oh

Replaying Heartgold recently and I got up to Ho-oh. The first round he wiped out my whole team. The second round, I accidently KO'd him with my Graveller. The third round he had taken out half my team and none of my Ultra Balls were working (I had used my Scyther to False Swipe him but he still wouldn't stay in the ball)

In desperation, I threw a Premier Ball.

It worked....

I love it when the minor balls work on legendaries. I remember this one time I was trying to stall for a Timer Ball while attempting to capture a Moltres that was in the yellow, and all of a sudden, one of the Poké Balls I chucked at it worked.

...Same thing happened with a Mewtwo and a Great Ball, so clearly, the answer for me is to carry around Timer Balls I half-intend on using.

Ha ha, that's good! (And hey, you have Ho-oh now; congrats.) Not a legendary, but reminds me of the time I threw everything I had (I think over 30 balls between Poke, Great, Ultra, Timer, and Net) at the first Absol I saw in Sapphire before catching it with the very last thing in my bag... my one Repeat Ball.
