Quick question for anyone who got their shiny Palkia(s) at Gamestop, but were you told you had to have a pokemon X oy Y reservation to be able to download yours (well for them to turn it on so you could anyway)? I mean, it wasn't a problem for me as I've already had mine paid for, but I'd never heard of that for a gamestop pokemon giveaway before and I'd done plenty. I certainly didn't need it for my shiny Dialgas this past Sunday. Either way, I really need to fill out my gamestop survey so I can let them know I feel like something was fishy about it. :Va

Whoa, there was definitely nothing like that at mine! Hell, I was able to download the Palkia right outside of their store! I'd say something's up.

I haven't tried to get Palkia yet, but there wasn't anything like that for the earlier Dialga giveaway for me, either. It seems really strange for them to suddenly start caring about it at the second giveaway.

(Not really fond of the ideas of "giveaways" other than true pre-order bonuses being tied to purchases, either.)

Well, to be fair I did get my Dialgas at a store in Indy (wanted to play the pokemon X and Y demo, but, well, it's not going to be at the scheduled events until after the games' release :|) rather than where I preordered, but I'd gotten events at any number of gamestops in various areas (another Indy location, Muncie, home, etc) just fine so I was super confused this time around. Definitely gonna raie some questions about this now. Gamestop survey, here I come!

That's definitely fishy! In theory, they should just leave the mystery gift machine on when they're open, so that (theoretically, at least) you wouldn't even have to go into the store to download it. I have only had to ask a store to turn theirs on at all once, in the shiny Johto legendaries mystery gift before Black/White came out; every other time I just go in, ask to be sure, and then download my gift. (Sometimes on two or three games, too!)
