What do you want to see in a Pokemon game?
A long time ago on
pokemon there was a post about What kind of Pokemon game would you want? Or what kind of features you'd like to see.
We've been through a few main game generations since then - they even added some features I'd wanted back in the day! - so I thought I'd bring this back.

Edit: I would legit buy whatever new system it required for a new Pokemon Snap.

My commenters are also quick to point out that they miss the HG/SS interface, which I'm mostly inclined to agree with. I think D/P might have the edge for the specific task of chasing roaming Legendaries (and this is basically the only time I will ever say anything positive about D/P's interface) but yeah, a return to a more HG/SS style layout would be good.
Also Pokemon following you around on the map HG/SS style, and bare feet as an option in character customization. This series finally, finally lets you have a "none" option for hat, but not doing the same for shoes in a game that (from what I understand without having played it) spends at least a fair amount of time on beaches is a missed opportunity.

* That said, I could also totally live without the addition of more major mechanic changes, especially if they're going to get little to no story play in future games.
* I want another Pokemon Ranger game. Collect Pokemon by hugging them? Yes, please!
* I rather miss Inevitable Third Game as opposed to Sequel Games (like Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum, rather than like Black 2/White 2 and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon). That said, if they are going to keep doing sequel games, I'd prefer if the games had the level of new stuff added that Black 2/White 2 had, rather than Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. More towns, some different gyms/badges, even different PCs.
* I wouldn't mind if they went more than a year without putting out a new core series game. I feel like US/UM were a lot more polished than Sun and Moon were in most respects, and I think the extra year of development helped with that. It might also give them time to develop more than seventy-ish Pokemon to release per game.
* I'm definitely on Team Keep It Up With Regional Variants. There were some I was disappointed not to see, even limiting themselves to Gen 1. We finally coulda had pink Butterfree for real for an anime tie-in! (Bug/Psychic for preference, because that always annoyed me about Kanto Butterfree.)
There's probably more, but that's what I've got at the moment.

I have such mixed feelings about Lusamine. On the one hand, I've been wanting a female main villain for aaaaaages; on the other hand, the fact that her being a lousy mother is tied into her villainy is... kinda gross, to me? Closest we get to that with the male villains is Giovanni and Silver, and that's not nearly as clearly developed. The way the story is shaped in Sun/Moon+, her being a bad mother is part of what makes her a villain; the way she's over-controlling of Lillie (and of Gladion before he ran away), how she prioritizes Pokemon over her children, etc. It links her motherhood, and therefore her womanhood, with her villainy in a way that makes me distinctly uncomfortable.
Pokemon Company, just take one of your usual male villains and genderflip 'em! I want a lady who wants to take over the world, dammit >:(
