I got it the first day it came out and I'm having a great time with it. It's not flawless of course but it's fun, and I really like being able to move around without having endless random encounters in the grass. I love the camping thing too.

Brought it day one and just recently finished the 8th gym.
I don't play competitively or hunt for shiny Pokemon etc so obviously my opinion is going to be different.
Honestly, I find it boring compared to previous games.
There's no real story or events outside of "go to this town, fight gym, repeat". Yes Sonia shows up to talk about the legendary Pokemon but at times when in previous games you'd be called in to take care of something or have a diversion because of Team Whatever now other characters just say "oh we'll take care of it" and that's that.
I don't hate it, it just feels like something's missing.
