Customizing Your Character

In the games that let you customize the player character's appearance, how do you usually go about it? Do you choose their clothes and hairstyle at random? Do you try to make them look like yourself in real life? Do you not bother and just stick with a default appearance?

Same for when it comes to naming your character. Do you pick one at random? Do you use your real name? Do you use a default name?

About half the time I'll make the character look like me, and the other half the time I'll go pretty random—with one exception; since I'm white, when I'm going "random", I always make my character a POC, on the basis that I want to play more games with POC protags but also don't play a whole lot of games in general 😅

I usually rotate between my given name and my standard online handle, but for games where you can't pick your appearance I may stick with one of the default names (when I can find them).

That said, for one of my Sun and Moon runs, I modeled the main character after Moana ✌
